Irish Ham and Cheese Beer Bread

Irish Ham and Cheese Beer Bread

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

12 oz beer. We bought a can of Eden Sands lager beer from the Dirty Oar in Cocoa Village

1 cup ham, cut into strips or small cubes

3 oz grated (1 cup) Gruyère cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons from Olives & Grapes All-natural Butter flavored olive oil

Optional: 1 jalapeño pepper, unseeded, cut into slices

Directions

Heat oven to 350 F.

Lightly oil the loaf pans.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add beer, ham, Parmesan cheese, Gruyère cheese, honey, and jalapeño pepper.

Stir with a rubber spatula to combine. The batter will be thick.

Pour the batter into the loaf pans. Drizzle the butter olive oil on top.

Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown and a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. Let the bread cool in the pans for 15 minutes, then turn it out and serve warm.
